About the role:
As a Risk Officer in the IRB Strategy and Control team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the robustness of our credit risk management framework. You will work closely with the Retail and Non-Retail Credit Risk quant teams to deliver regulatory compliant and efficient credit risk models. The IRB Strategy and Control team act as an interface between the business divisions, management, external supervisors, technology and the quant teams.
In this role, you will utilize your experience related to credit risk at a financial institution, and we welcome different professional backgrounds as entry points to this role. Experience from supervisory work at a financial institution or within compliance helps to navigate regulatory requirements. A strong understanding of the credit analysis process, for example gained from a prior role as a credit analyst, is essential in designing risk classification frameworks and guiding users in its application. Expertise in credit risk modeling provides the understanding and technical skills for supporting model development activities, model change management, and monitoring and control of rating systems. Your responsibilities will involve a combination of regulatory understanding, analytical capabilities, and technical proficiency in credit risk management.
Your role will include the following responsibilities among others:
Develop and maintain the IRB framework in SEB Group, in terms of policies and processes, and practical oversight in terms of monitoring and control of the functioning of the IRB rating systems Interact with the Retail and Non-retail quant teams in model development activities, to ensure regulatory compliance and the timely resolution of internal and external audit remarks and obligations. Communicate with supervisors on IRB matters. Communicate with internal stakeholders such as business teams, control functions and technology teams.
To thrive in this role, we believe you have:
Solid understanding of regulatory requirements from supervisory work at a financial institution or within a compliance function. Proven experience in the credit analysis process, potentially with a background as a credit analyst or credit officer. Strong knowledge and practical experience with credit risk models. Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex information. Ability to drive changes with impact. Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with diverse teams. Fluency in English is required.
