Master thesis in AIOps | SEB, Stockholm
Do you want to explore how artificial intelligence can shape the future of operations in one of the leading technology-driven banks in the Nordics?
At SEB, we believe in combining innovation, collaboration, and long-term thinking to create real value for our customers and society. We are now offering a master’s thesis opportunity within AIOps for students who want to combine academic depth with hands-on relevance and contribute to applied research where AI, observability, and large-scale operations meet.
About the thesis
This thesis opportunity is for students who are excited by the possibility of applying AI to meaningful, real-world challenges in Operations. Together with the AIOps team, you will define a research question, place it in a relevant academic and technical context, and design a suitable methodology for investigation. Depending on the chosen scope, the work may include data analysis, model development, system design, experimentation, or comparative evaluation of alternative approaches. The ambition is to create work that is both academically solid and practically valuable.
AIOps is a collaborative and technically ambitious team working across infrastructure, data platforms, AI-enabled services, and internal applications. As a thesis student at SEB, you will work with experts, learn about large-scale technology, and apply research methods to create practical solutions.
Example research directions:
-
Agentic AI: Autonomous agents that automate and optimize operations
-
Multi-agent workflows: Several AI agents collaborating on complex tasks such as distributed detection, coordinated response, or resource allocation
-
Predictive models for incident escalation or service degradation
-
Root-cause analysis using machine learning or graph-based methods
-
Refine large language models for knowledge retrieval and decision support
-
Optimize anomaly detection in operational telemetry
The final thesis topic will be selected collaboratively based on student interest and feasibility.
