Java Software Developer / Programmētājs(-a) (Mid/Senior) | SEB, Riga

More than 200 systems and applications supporting our products, business processes, channels, and data are created and maintained within the Product & Technology Development department.
You will join a cross-functional Investment Advisory team developing digital investment solutions such as robo-advisory, micro-investments, and appropriateness assessments. This is a full-stack development role with a stronger back-end focus, where you will contribute across front-end, back-end, integrations, and established core systems.
The team is entering an important development phase, including the continued development of our investment solutions and contribution to the integration of a new private banking platform. We are open to both Software Developer or Senior Software Developer profiles, with the level of responsibility adapted to your experience and ability to take ownership of technical topics.

- Contribute across the full software development lifecycle within an Agile team, including analysis, design, development, testing, release, and maintenance
- Develop and maintain solutions across the full stack, with a primary focus on back-end development
- Collaborate with business and technology colleagues to understand needs and turn them into effective technical solutions
- Investigate technical challenges and contribute to finding sustainable solutions across the team’s technology landscape
- Prepare and deliver releases of software components and contribute to stable production services
- Take increasing ownership of technical topics and contribute beyond a narrowly defined system or development area
- Experience in software development with Java and Spring Boot
- Good understanding of software development principles and the ability to write clean, maintainable code
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with a solution-oriented mindset
- A proactive and responsible approach, with curiosity and willingness to learn across different technologies and systems
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a cross-functional team
- Good written and spoken English for collaboration across the Baltics
It is an advantage if you have:
- Experience with TypeScript and Angular
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift
- Interest in or experience with mobile development
- Practical experience with AI-assisted development tools
- Interest in exploring AI agent-based development workflows responsibly within a secure banking environment
- Back-end: Java 25, Spring Boot

- Databases & core systems: PostgreSQL, Progress OpenEdge ABL
- DevOps & infrastructure: Git / Bitbucket, Maven, Jenkins, Red Hat, OpenShift
