The main objective for Group Credits is to safeguard SEB’s asset quality and maintain alignment with the risk appetite of the SEB Group. Group Credits provides appropriate checks and balances in the credit decision-making process by ensuring that credit origination decisions made by the Divisions are subject to an independent second opinion, a Credit risk conclusion, to the extent justified by their size and complexity.
About the role

We are seeking an independent, motivated candidate who will be an integral part in the credit authorization process for matters related to SEB Denmark. You will be safeguarding SEB Denmark’s asset quality and maintaining alignment with the risk appetite of the SEB Group. You will also provide appropriate checks and balances in the credit decision-making process across the SEB Group by ensuring that credit origination decisions made by the Division(s) are subject to an independent second opinion, a Credit risk conclusion, to the extent justified by their size and complexity. You will be a Senior Credit Officer, with rights and responsibilities in a Divisional Credit Committee; operationally assigned to the Corporate Banking Unit within Group Credits.

In addition to facilitating credit authorization decisions, responsibilities include screening credit memoranda to ensure high quality risk assessment and presenting, in writing and orally, the key credit risk assessment in a condensed and clear manner. Furthermore, responsibilities also extend to planning the credit process and contribute to the development and maintenance of policies and instructions.

As Head of Credits, Denmark you vill:
  • Lead and develop the Group Credits Denmark activities to ensure that activities are conducted effectively and ethically with a high level of motivation, hereunder comply with the bank’s policies and code of conduct – as well as relevant regulations and laws.
  • Act as Senior Credit Officer, with rights and responsibilities in a Divisional Credit Committee; operationally assigned to the Corporate Banking Unit within Group Credits.
  • Provide appropriate checks and balances in the local credit decision-making process and, if relevant from a decision-making authority perspective, forward consented credit matters to the appropriate decision-making authority. 
  • Proactively interact with local functional and operational area managers to ensure that their risk appetite is aligned with the risk appetite of the SEB Group.
  • Contribute actively to the development and maintenance of credit policies and related instructions.   
To thrive in this role, we believe you have
  • Proven experience within credit origination, credit decision-making and/or authorization.
  • Broad knowledge of the Danish business environment in general.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ professional experience at senior level including solid managerial/project leadership skills.
  • It is a clear advantage having been exposed to credit committees in the past either through presentation or voting.
  • Knowledge of SEB’s Credit Instructions and Policies is an advantage.
  • You must be a clear communicator and fluency in written and spoken English is a prerequisite.
  • You should be a proactive, service-minded individual with strong credit and analytical skills.
  • You must possess high integrity, social competence and have demonstrated administrative/project skills.
  • A good team player is sought with the capacity and interest to develop skills and knowledge across Group Credits.
