About the role
As Head of Audit for the CRO, CFO and Group Compliance team, you will have main stakeholder relationship responsibility for all audit work conducted within the Control functions area CRO, Group Compliance and additionally also covering the CFO function of SEB.
The role involves leading and managing a team of nine professional auditors located in Stockholm and Vilnius that conduct the audit work and to proactively manage audit relationships with the stakeholders. The tasks include leading the Risk Assessment process and ensuring that the risk- and regulatory based Audit Plan is delivered on time and with high quality. Also, you will oversee the audit process to ensure that the audit assignments comply with the established Global Audit Methodology, and the internal processes and systems. You will ensure proper allocation of resources and maximise the efficiency of the audit work conducted by the team.
The Head of the Audit team is also responsible for providing quarterly reports on the audit work conducted in different areas to the Banks CFO, CRO, and Head of Group Compliance, senior management and to the Head of GIA. In this role it will also be required to ensure the quality of ad hoc investigations or support with requests from Financial Supervisory Authorities as approved by the Head of GIA. You are also a key stakeholder participating in interactions with regulators, mainly Finansinspektionen but also with SEB External Auditors.

This is a multidimensional job which requires good leadership skills and the ability to understand and assess the big picture without losing attention to details. You are excellent in maintaining and building relationships within the organisation and to external stakeholders, but at the same time keep your professional integrity and act as a role model. The right candidate will have both strong leadership and excellent communication skills to be able to communicate with senior management but also on a detailed and more technical level.
You will be part of the management team in GIA and it is required in that capacity to have the best interest for SEB in your mind. In addition, we look for an individual with a broad knowledge of the banking industry and good overall understanding of the regulatory environment SEB operates in. You have experience from working with questions pertaining to regulatory models and capital requirements as well as emerging non-financial risk areas. The area has become highly complex over the years with a mix of regulatory expectation but at the same time manage to focus on a risk-based audit plan.
In addition;
- You have a minimum of 10 years of working experience in the banking industry or similar, preferably with an external or internal audit-, supervisory or quantitative background
- You have documented management skills and practical experience to coach and develop a team of senior experts and quantitative analysts
- Knowledge in areas pertaining to capital requirements and regulatory models is of merit
- You are curious, have high integrity and enjoy leading teams with mixed skills and backgrounds in project type assignments
- Senior expertise in business areas/functions and understanding of the regulatory requirements in the banking sector
- You are an excellent communicator with the ability to build trust and relationships at all levels in the SEB organisation
- You have applicable university degree and fluent in English (both verbally and written language)
- You are truly interested in how you can apply AI/Digital tools/data analytics in conducting the audit work
