Head of Accounting & Tax | SEB Kort, Solna
SEB Kort is looking for a Head of Accounting & Tax to take a central role in shaping our finance function and supporting the company’s ambition to become the leading European payment provider. This is an opportunity for an experienced leader with a strong background in accounting, tax, financial reporting, and governance to lead a talented team and contribute to both strategic development and operational excellence.
About the role
As Head of Accounting & Tax, you will have overall responsibility for the accounting, tax, and regulatory reporting functions within SEB Kort, including functional responsibility for the SEB Kort Group.
This role offers a broad mandate, from driving the long-term development of SEB Kort’s accounting and tax function, to representing the company in strategic initiatives across the SEB Group. A key part of the role is driving the accounting and tax integration of AirPlus, including the legal merger of the German subsidiary, and ensuring smooth consolidation across SEB Kort’s group of companies.
You will lead a team of 13 professionals in SEB Kort, which includes a sub-team overseen by a manager reporting directly to you. Additionally, you will have the functional responsibility for the total SEB Kort Group Accounting and Tax function. Together, you will ensure high-quality financial reporting, robust compliance, and continuous improvement of processes, systems, and tools. The role combines leadership with hands-on responsibility across closing, reporting, external audit, and compliance with both IFRS and local regulations.
You will collaborate closely with SEB Kort’s CFO, business controllers, and external stakeholders. The position is based in Solna and reports to the CFO of SEB Kort Bank AB.
Your responsibilities will include
• Providing strategic direction for accounting, tax, and regulatory reporting across SEB Kort, including setting the target operating model for the function.
• Leading and developing a high-performing team, including a sub-team managed by a direct-reporting manager.
• Driving the integration of AirPlus, ensuring its accounting and tax processes align with SEB’s standards.
• Managing group-level consolidation, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial statements across SEB Kort’s group of companies.
• Taking overall operational responsibility for day-to-day accounting and tax activities, ensuring smooth and accurate execution.
• Ensuring compliance with IFRS, local GAAP, tax legislation, and other regulatory requirements.
• Acting as the main point of contact for external auditors and advisors.
• Driving continuous improvements in financial processes, systems, and governance structures.
• Representing SEB Kort in cross-functional projects and SEB Group-level initiatives.
Who we are looking for
You are a strategic finance leader with deep technical expertise in accounting and tax. You have a proven ability to lead teams, make complex decisions, and contribute to long-term business success in a regulated environment.
To thrive in this role, we believe you have:
Academic degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or related field. 15+ years of finance experience in large international companies, preferably within banking or financial services. At least 5 years of senior leadership experience managing teams within Finance. Strong knowledge of accounting, consolidation, financial reporting, and tax compliance in a regulated environment. Experience from post-merger integration is an advantage. Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
