Are you excited about building modern, resilient systems that sit at the heart of banking? Do you want to join one of SEB’s most business-critical product roadmap and influence how payments evolve for millions of customers?

At SEB, we are shaping the next generation of payment capabilities. Our Payment Roadmap area drives one of the bank’s most important transformation journeys — renewing core services, enabling real-time processing, and building future-proof architectures. If you want your work to matter, this is the place.

With technology as our foundation, we provide world-class services across SEB Group in 20 locations worldwide. With us, you join a community of 2800+ professionals who challenge old ways of working, adopt modern engineering practices, and innovate for a sustainable digital tomorrow.

About the role:

As a Back-End (.NET) Developer, you will be part of a cross-functional team responsible for developing and modernizing mission-critical payment capabilities. You will work closely with architects, product owners, and engineering teams in Vilnius and Stockholm to build secure, scalable, and high-performance services while contributing to SEB's long-term payment strategy.

Our Technology Stack

As a Back-End (.NET) Developer on our team, you'll work with a modern, cloud-native ecosystem built for scale, reliability, and continuous delivery.

Backend & Messaging:

.NET Core for building high-performance services
Kafka and IBM MQ for event-driven and message-based integrations
MS SQL for robust and scalable data storage

Cloud & Containerization:

OpenShift, Docker, and Kubernetes as the foundation for deploying and orchestrating microservices

CI/CD & Code Quality:

GitHub Actions for automated build and deployment pipelines
SonarQube for code quality and security checks

Monitoring & Observability:

Splunk, Prometheus, and AppDynamics for proactive monitoring, alerting, and performance insights

You will play a key role in:
  • Developing and maintaining back-end services and APIs for payment solutions
  • Contributing to the modernization of existing systems as part of SEB's strategic Payment Roadmap
  • Writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following engineering best practices
  • Troubleshooting, debugging, and improving existing applications to ensure reliability and performance
  • Contributing to CI/CD, DevOps, and cloud-native development practices
  • Collaborating with architects, developers, testers, and product owners in a cross-functional Agile team

This is an opportunity to contribute to one of the bank's most critical domains while working with modern technologies and large-scale distributed systems alongside experienced engineers.

To thrive in this role, we believe you have:
  • Professional experience with C# and .NET Core building backend applications
  • Understanding of REST APIs and service-oriented or microservice-based architectures
  • Experience working with relational databases such as MS SQL
  • Familiarity with Git and modern software development practices
  • Interest in cloud-native development and container technologies such as Docker, OpenShift, or Kubernetes
  • A proactive mindset with good problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional Agile team
  • Fluency in English
  • Experience using LLMs as part of your development workflow, either professionally or through personal projects

Bonus points if you also have:

  • Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka or IBM MQ
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar tools
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk or Prometheus
  • Experience working with financial systems, payment solutions, or other business-critical applications
What we offer:
  • Entrepreneurial Scandinavian working culture
  • A modern engineering environment with the freedom to influence architecture and technology choices
  • International collaboration with teams across SEB Group
  • Long-term stability, opportunities for growth, and internal mobility
  • Extensive training, learning programs, and professional development
  • Work–life balance and flexible hybrid work model
  • Access to SEB staff banking with exclusive benefits
3.000 € - 4.300 € a month
