Internship Programme
SEB UK is growing and we are looking for young talent to explore a career with us and to gain an insight into the financial industry as well as contributing with your own life experiences and fresh perspectives.
We welcome students with dynamic capabilities who are interested in corporate banking, structured finance or investment banking. We offer off-cycle and summer internship programmes with opportunities for undergraduate or postgraduate students to apply for 12-week internships, with the potential for them to lead to a full-time position.
Our location
The office, with approximately 110 employees, is in the heart of the City of London, directly opposite the magnificent St. Paul’s Cathedral.
The unique, modern space comprises a mix of open-floor and office premises and is accessible for differently abled individuals. This is who we are looking for
We are looking for ambitious and entrepreneurial candidates, who have an interest in the industry. We at SEB value transferable skills across portfolios, which could be applicable to a banking environment.
A successful candidate would be:
- open to new learning
- excited about change
- comfortable working in cross-functional teams
- a good organisational fit
Inclusion and Diversity is crucial for our success. We strive to encourage a collaborative culture, where employees feel valued, respected and involved.
Visa Requirements
To work a 40-hour week in the UK, it is necessary for you to have the relevant work visa. For the off-cycle internships (January/October) you need to be either a British/Irish Citizen or have pre/settlement status for the UK. If unsure, please refer to the relevant section at gov.uk.
For the summer internship in July, a student visa will suffice as this allows you to work full-time between semesters.
Occasionally we offer part-time internships as part of our off-cycle programme, allowing candidates with student visas to work a 20-hour week.
How and when to apply
Our 12-week full-time internships commence each year in January, July and October. Exact dates are subject to completion of relevant background checks. Please note, that we will not be recruiting for the September/October 2024 internship position, however we encourage you to monitor our website for upcoming internship opportunities. Applications should be submitted in the following timespans:
Month of joining | Applications | Interview dates |
January | September/October | First two weeks in November |
July | January | Last two weeks in February |
September/October | May/June | July |
Our purpose
Watch our sustainability event
SEB is a pioneer in sustainability. One year ago, we outlined our sustainability strategy, setting targets and a roadmap to deliver on our net zero commitment. In November 2022 we shared our progress and next steps.
Equal Opportunity
Only 30 per cent of company owners in Sweden are women. At SEB, we want to change the entreprenorm. So that more women can pitch their ideas, lead, own, and shape the future.
The Wallenberg Ecosystem
The Wallenberg family is deeply involved in research and education through the Wallenberg Foundations and as an engaged and long-term owner of companies in which they, directly or indirectly, are lead owners.
