SEB’s Ethical Sweden Fund granted climate label

South Pole Carbon, a Swiss advisory firm, has granted SEB’s Ethical Sweden Fund its “Climate Impact Transparent Investment” label. “This is our second fund that’s been awarded South Pole Carbon’s climate label this year, and this shows that we’re doing the right thing”, says SEB fund manager and sustainability specialist Anette Andersson.

South Pole Carbon’s analysis shows that an investment into SEB Ethical Sweden as of September 2014 resulted in 20 per cent less carbon dioxide equivalent emissions than the same investment into the benchmark, SBX Ethical. South Pole Carbon also found that the fund was twice as climate friendly as the Swedish market index, SIX PX Sweden.

“It is becoming more and more important for investors to be aware of the impact that their investment have on the climate. An increasing number of companies fail to take responsibility for greenhouse gas emissions and are being held accountable for the damage. We want to be open about our carbon footprint to provide investors with full transparency”, says Andersson.
