SEB number 9 on world’s strongest banks list

SEB is number 9 on a list of the world’s strongest banks compiled by Bloomberg Markets magazine.

To identify the world’s strongest banks, Bloomberg Markets used the Equity Screening (EQS) function on the Bloomberg Professional service to obtain a list of public and private banks with total assets of 100 billion dollars or more as of May 1. The banks were evaluated in five categories; the ratio of tier 1 capital to risk-weighted assets, the ratio of nonperforming assets to total assets, reserves for loan losses to nonperforming assets, the ratio of deposits to funding and the efficiency ratio, which compares costs with revenue. All data are for the banks’ 2013 fiscal year.

Finland’s Pohjola Bank is the only other Nordic bank on the top 20 list, at number eight.
