Newsweek magazine has included SEB at place 37 in its ranking of the greenest companies in the world, making the bank the best performer among Nordic companies.

“This ranking shows that our efforts to reduce our environmental impact and the work we do to expand our green product range delivers results,” says SEB's environmental manager Jonas Solehav.

Newsweek Green Rankings, first launched in 2009, is done in cooperation with Corporate Knights magazine and HIP Investor. The ranking includes the 500 largest companies in the US and the 500 largest in the world. Companies are evaluated on their own environmental footprint, and based on other factors such as share of income that is green, board work and relevant reporting of environmental data.

16 Nordic companies made the list, including nine from Sweden. SEB ranks best of the Nordic companies in place 37, followed closely by Atlas Copco at 38 and Nordea at 39.
